The H&S Advisor will lead the day-to-day co-ordination of the health and safety site requirements including operations, warehouse, mixing plant, laboratories, and other site functions. This role will be the primary source for providing advice and information to managers, employees and contractors on safety. Together with the preparation of health and safety procedures and policy making.

Role Description
- Liaise with industry HSE bodies
- Role modelling of expected behaviours and attitudes to HSE
- Engagement and communication activities across the entire workforce to embed and reinforce a strong safety culture
- Create an environment which encourages HSE passion and engagement of the workforce, including near-miss reporting, generation of ideas for improvements
- Help to carry out investigations into HSE related incidents and recommend changes
- Support the HSE Manager in developing new and best practice and implementing agreed programmes to deliver continuous improvement
- Manage the inspection and audit process and drive key stakeholders to maintain an annual schedule.
- Co-ordination and administration of health, safety and environmental procedures and systems.
- Continue to develop the Behavioural Safety Programme and provide coaching for safe behaviours throughout the business.
- Identify health and safety training requirements and manage meetings as required.
- Attend and lead H&S committee meetings.
- Manage incident investigations and insurance claims.
- Maintain the site Waste Stream Matrix ensuring licenses and WTN owners are up to date.
- Develop and extend current systems such as COSHH and Risk Assessment systems.
Skills and Qualifications
- 2 -5 years’ hands-on experience in an HSE role
- Experience of managing HSE systems
- NEBOSH General Certificate in HSE or equivalent
- Trained in Health & Safety management methods
- Used to working to tight budgets and time constraints
