Shift Pattern: Days Monday -Thursday 07:30 -17:30 Friday 07:30 – 16:30

Our prestigious client, a leading manufacturer in the heavy industry sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of their critical electrical and automation systems. With a strong commitment to operational excellence and minimizing downtime, they require a proactive and technically proficient professional to join their maintenance team.

Role and Responsibilities:

Spearhead a diverse team of Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Engineers, Site Services, and Project Engineers to achieve excellence in site operations.
Working with site engineering leadership to execute engineering and production plans, maintain service levels, and advance engineering strategies while adhering to stringent quality, safety, and cost standards.
Champion the implementation of a comprehensive engineering strategy to enhance reliability, improve quality and safety standards, and optimize asset utilization across the site, leveraging both direct and indirect reports.
Maintain a “hands-on” approach, dedicating 50% of time to direct involvement and providing essential coverage during periods of absence.
Lead project management efforts and drive the successful implementation of change initiatives to improve operational effectiveness.
Mentor, train, and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture through regular appraisals, performance management, and personalized development plans designed to maximize individual and team potential.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing engineering teams to achieve and exceed targets.
Time-served apprenticeship providing a robust understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
5+ years’ experience in medium/large automated manufacturing operations within a heavy industry, understanding its unique challenges and opportunities.
IOSH Managing Safely certification (preferred) or demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Experienced in utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and stock control systems for optimized resource management.
Knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) principles to drive improvements in equipment performance and reduce downtime
