Our client is a leading fresh foods manufacturer & packager, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Role & Responsibilities:

Carry out both planned & reactive maintenance across all manufacturing & production areas
Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
Dealing with high-speed production lines, food processing & packaging machinery
PLC – electrical fault finding
Worked on inverters, motors, conveyors, compressors, 3-phase, boilers & steam systems, refrigeration, effluent plant, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors
Monitoring & reporting on machine efficiencies, reliability and machine condition monitoring
Reporting on machinery or component defects on the CMMS system
Contact OEM’s and suppliers for ordering spares, parts and reporting aftercare issues
Coaching operators on asset care tasks on machinery
Fully document all PPM & breakdown activities
Participate as required in installation & commissioning of new plant machinery & equipment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Must be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer (ideally electrically biased)
Strong both electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills
Have experience of working in a high-speed food / FMCG production environment
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Need to be proactive, flexible and an excellent communicator
Knowledge of fault finding on industrial sized boiler systems would be great
Ideally have worked on refrigeration, site services/facilities & treatment plant
PLC – electrical fault-finding experience
Ability to work individually but also part of a smaller engineering team
Knowledge of using data logging systems, PPM systems and documentation
Electrical & mechanical installation & commissioning skills
Flexible to work different hours and sometimes travel to another local site
