£30k-£35k + Bonus

Our client is a leading special purpose materials manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a larger group with multiple sites in the UK, this is one of their flagship operations. They are looking for a maintenance engineer that is strong biased towards mechanical.

Role & Responsibilities:

Responsible for reactive & planned maintenance across all areas of engineering
Mechanical and electrical fault finding / problem solving on machinery/equipment
Working on a variety of special purpose machinery, vacuum systems, industrial processing equipment, lighting & power systems, conveyors, ovens, heat treatment machinery
PLC – electrical fault finding
Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding & manual machining of parts/repairs
Reading and following circuit and electrical & mechanical diagrams
Carry out PPM schedules and update records
Conducting machine/equipment testing and procedure improvements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Must be a mechanically biased engineer
Experience of working in manufacturing / production industries
Must be an experienced / time-served mechanical maintenance engineer
Qualified ideally to ONC/HNC mechanical engineering
Must be able to fault find / problem solve down to electronic component level
Mechanical fabrication, fitting & welding skills
Manual machining – able to make parts & repairs
RF experience desirable
High voltage experience would be great – AC / DC power supplies
Good soldering skills would be beneficial
Team player with a get stuck in attitude
PLC knowledge desirable
Able to make own decisions and plan own workload accordingly
