Process Engineer/CI Engineer

Our client is an industry leading design and manufacturer of specialist niche products that our used in a variety of industries. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Process/CI Engineer looking for the opportunity to join a growing company and the chance to be a vital part of its journey.

Reporting to the Operations Manager the role will look to support the sustainment of operational systems of work based on best practice. The Process Engineer will work closely with Shift Operations Managers and Team Leaders to create a safe well organised work environment, enabling operatives to work efficiently and effectively. Whilst conscious of always looking to achieve customer expectations, the role will ensure this is achieved in the most cost-effective way possible.

The Process Engineer needs to adopt a relentless approach to Process optimisation, creating an expectation that processes should be challenged at all levels of the organisation and where appropriate a managed change is implemented to achieve a positive outcome. The role will fully utilise data to support decision making.

*Evaluate the level of efficiency of operational processes, SOP’s and work instructions.
*Conduct production analysis – time and motion studies, machine capability analysis, SPC.
*Co-ordinate improvement activity and issue resolution
*Create, implement, and monitor key performance indicators and metrics within the Manufacturing processes.
*Equipment monitoring to provide confidence that all equipment is functionally correct and therefore fit for purpose.
*Conduct process risk assessments and systematically target the highest causes of risk within the process.
*Identify key process requirements and align with robust process controls and automation.
*Support business system deployments such as lean, CI, NPI cost reduction programs within the value stream
*Support with Capex justifications and deployment into the business from identifying opportunities for new equipment into the business through to effective project management of the associated projects.
*Working within the NPI process as part of the team, influence process design to determine benchmark information and ultimately process capability for new parts.
*Investigate operational issues to support robust root cause analysis of NCR’s, customer complaints and significant downtime.
*Conduct systematic yield analysis across all parts and assets. Co-ordinate improvement activity and issue resolution
*Support the develop training methodologies resulting in an evidence-based system for assessing competency.
*Train / coach and work with operatives when deploying new approaches to operational activity.
*Apply visual management to effectively communicate operational expectations.
*Identify opportunities for fool proofing within the processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

*The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work with the minimum of supervision, driving change through engagement and involvement with others.
*Have a good level of technical understanding of how production and manufacturing function works, with experience of controlling production processes across multiple machines.
*The ability to communicate well in writing and verbally is essential as this role involves working closely with colleagues to improve processes and report findings.
*Attention to detail is a key skill, as data analysis and conclusions are a required output of this role to deliver solutions and drive change.
*Experience of running multiple manufacturing machines and/processes.
*A good understanding of workflow processes, quality standards and use of inhouse computer systems

Benefits Package:

*£45,000 – £48,000
*Contributory Pension 4% employer 5% employee
*25 days holiday
