Location: Newton Abbot

Start Salary: £23,632.96 + 20% shift allowance

Rotating 3 Shift: 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am

Job Description:

To assist with the timely production of a range of products
Ensure that Health and Safety requirements are adhered to at all times, especially in the operation of machinery where safe working practises must be observed
Operate a variety of machines and tools used in the various stages of the production process, and according to job instructions.
Assist in maintaining a buffer stock
Assist and monitor specified Production personnel to ensure that the agreed standards of productivity and quality are maintained
Ensure that customer orders are met on a timely basis, ensuring that all goods meet the required quality standards.
Maintain production machinery and equipment in good working order.
Assist the Supervisor in the on-going guidance, training and development of Production staff
Observe the Company Quality and Environmental standards, procedures and guidelines in all areas of production activity
Assist the Supervisor with recruitment and selection of new team members and take responsibility for inductions with new staff.
Lead in specific projects and improvement activities
Take pro-active responsibility for the improvement of KPI’s by providing data to Management and actions plans for improvement.

Experience and Skills:

Have proven experience in a team leader role
Have proven experience working within the manufacturing sector
Extrusion experience would be advantageous but not essential
Able to interpret instructions in order to meet specified standards
Strong leadership skills
Good team player
Performance management
Problem solving skills
Good eye for detail
