Tooling Engineer

Salary: £25,000 – £33,000

Hours: Monday -Friday 9am-5pm

Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank, Cycle to work scheme, Early finish on Fridays

Job Description:

Our client is prominent within the medical design and manufacturing sector. They want you to join their design department as a tooling engineer, where you will be responsible for the entire tooling design and its development. With their future product plans this role would give experience like no other.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Tooling design and development
Continuous Improvement initiatives and FMEA creation and management.
Maintenance of L&T’s tools, jigs and fixtures.
Project scheduling – meeting project deadlines including trials of new
Working collaboratively with different departments to develop, evaluate and validate design modifications
Assist in the implantation of standards for new product development.
Advise and assist customers with any issues regarding technical drawings and Documentation

Experience & Skills:

Experience working in injection mould tooling design or similar.
Engineering Degree or a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
Good working knowledge of silicone rubber processing
In-depth knowledge of small to large-scale production and manufacturing.
3D Solid Modelling and Engineering Drawings
FEA and Mould Flow Analysis
Continuous Improvement
A good understanding of Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Experience of using SolidWorks Vault (PDM) would be an advantage although not essential.
