12 Hour Shifts – 4 on 4off 3on 3off Days (6am-6pm)

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced HGV maintenance technician to join their fleet maintenance team.

Role & Responsibilities:

Carry out preventative maintenance inspections, repairs & servicing of DAF & IVECO heavy goods vehicles and associate fleet vehicles
Servicing of tractor units, 3-axle trailers, LPG counterbalance forklift trucks
Maintain the upkeep of the operators licence
Use software based diagnostic equipment to diagnose vehicle faults
Inspect, prepare and repair all vehicles to DVSA & MOT standards
Service vehicles in line with company schedules to comply with health & safety requirements
Ensure all inspection, repair job cards and service records are up to date at the end of each shift

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Must be an experienced HGV technician
Ideally have previously worked in a dealership – beneficial if with DAF & IVECO
Knowledge of motor vehicle inspections and service scheduling
Able to work effectively & efficiently to complete DVSA & MOT requirements
Ideally have a HGV Class 1 driving licence
Strong mechanical & electrical fault finding & diagnostics skills
City & Guilds Level 2/3 in HGV maintenance or equivalent
Beneficial to have a Forklift or Counterbalance licence
Able to work on own or unsupervised and as part of a team
Happy working a rotating day shift pattern
Good time management, problem solving, safety awareness and attention to detail
