Our Environmental Impact Review 2025

With 2026 now underway, we continue to integrate sustainability across our business; strengthening our operations and supply chain, supporting our people, and exceeding the expectations of our clients, candidates, and communities. 

This review summarises our environmental progress throughout 2025 following significant certification milestones, a focus on office improvements, carbon reduction, renewable energy, and resource efficiency. 

1. A Greener, Smarter Workspace: Our New Cardiff Office The front of the new Hunter Selection Cardiff office building, Space2B

Employee feedback from 2024 highlighted the need for a more modern and efficient space in Cardiff. In 2025, we moved into our new office, designed to support wellbeing and reduce environmental impact. 

Key improvements: 

  • Prime location close to public transport, widening talent reach and reducing car travel. 
  • Enhanced facilities, including an onsite gym, restaurant, and modern workspaces. 
  • Environmental features such as energy-saving appliances, occupancy sensors, and CO₂, water, and energy monitoring. 
  • Low carbon travel support through bike lockers, shelters, and nine EV charging points. 

This upgrade has significantly improved both employee experience and environmental performance.

Reducing emissions remains central to our sustainability strategy. Our 2025 target was a 5% reduction in carbon footprint and utility usage. 

Progress achieved: 

  • 3% reduction in KGCO₂e emissions, including the addition of our new building. 
  • Positive energy status maintained, generating 8,300 kWh more renewable energy than we consumed — going beyond net zero. 
  • Energy self-sufficiency improved 
  • Before PV Panels (Eight months) :  39% self generated, 61% exported. 
  • After PV panels & battery storage installed  (four months): 88% self generated, 12% exported. 

These gains demonstrate the impact of continued investment in renewable energy and smart storage solutions. 

3. Circular Practices, Recycling & Sustainable Resource Use The new Cardiff office building

We further strengthened our circular economy efforts by reducing waste, improving recycling, and expanding renewable energy capacity. 

Key initiatives: 

  • Introduced composting & glass recycling at our Head Office  
  • Cardiff office enhancements including energy-saving systems and environmental monitoring. 
  • Additional solar panels and battery storage at Portishead. 
  • shared travel minibus reducing individual commuting emissions. 
  • Switch to bamboo toilet rolls, supporting low impact resource use. 

These actions reduce waste and support more efficient, sustainable operations. 

4. Framework Successes & Social Value Commitments 

Five 'Who Give's a Crap' bamboo toilet rolls stacked on top of one another2025 also delivered strong results across sustainability and governance frameworks, supported by the foundations built during our B Corp certification journey. 

Achievements: 

  • We are proud to be a Verified and Silver Plus member of the Achilles UVDB (Utilities Vendor Database)- the UK’s leading pre-qualification system for suppliers in the utilities sector. 
  • We are an approved Cirrus Consortium Agency framework supplier for recruitment services, a UK public sector buying group. 
  •  We are delighted to have achieved an EcoVadis Bronze medal, placing us in the top 35% of all companies assessed globally in the past year. 

This expands our positive impact well beyond our own operations. 

Looking Ahead 

2025 marked another year of meaningful environmental progress, but sustainability remains a long-term commitment. 

In 2026, we will: 

  • Further reduce carbon emissions across all offices 
  • Continue investing in renewable energy infrastructure 
  • Strengthen recycling and circular economy initiatives 
  • Expand our community and social value contributions
